98764652 Doom-3 sounds download? Expansion pack problem DELTA LABS- Level 4......HELP NEEDED!!! Why my doom 3 cant change resolution?
Yesterday, Microsoft surprised 360 owners when they announced and released the original Doom on to the Xbox Live Marketplace. But as usual, it was not released without some upgrades.
The Xbox Live Arcade download consists of the entire single player campaign (four episodes), four-player co-op and Deathmatch (both either on Xbox Live or via Splitscreen), and as with all arcade downloads, the game has the usual achievements, matchmaking, and leaderboards. Doom also supports 1080i and 5.1 surround sound along with some minor graphical upgrades to smooth things out. Doom is available right now as an arcade download for 800 Microsoft Points (equivalent to $10). It is 22 MB in size. Look for more information on the game when we get the section added to the site.
Over on DVDActive they've got details of Dooms release onto DVD:
Universal has revealed early details on Doom which stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Karl Urban and Rosamund Pike. This action adventure film from director Andrzej Bartkowiak, will be available to own in seperate rated (full frame only) and unrated editions from the 7th February. Each should set you back around $29.98. Audio will arrive in the form of English, French and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. We are also able to confirm that the unrated edition will have a runtime of around 1 hour 53 minutes, making it around 12 minutes longer than the theatrical cut. Extras on the unrated edition will include a first person shooter sequence, a featurette on the cast training with the SAS, a featurette that explores the locations, weapons and creatures, and another featurette exploring the Doom franchise. John Carmack has his views on the movie up at Slashdot.
I had fairly low expectations, and there were even some plans in palce to guide me away from any press after the premier if I didn't like the movie, so I wouldn't say something "unproductive", but I was pleasantly surprised. Direct Link. By Q22

IGN FilmForce have a two page review of Doom up, where they gave it a three out of five. Read the review here
Everyone else, consider this: Doom is made to resemble and glorify a videogame. It has some tight action sequences and some righteous kills, and it succeeds in the things it sets out to do. However, these things do not include weaving a delicate tale of human interaction or composing a story that makes a lot of sense. If you can live with that, it's a hell of a ride. If you can't, just wait… Oscar season is almost upon us. They also have four new video clips up. Three of them are interviews but the fourth one contains some good movie footage. Watch them here.
